Yelena Yemchuk

Yelena Yemchuk's output as a visual artist is immediately recognizable, regardless of medium.
Her's is a unique vision, possessing a surrealistic whimsy and dark romanticism that is uniquely all her own.

Yelena Yemchuk was born in Kiev, and immigrated to the United States with her parents, an athlete and a teacher when she was eleven.
She studied at Parsons School of Design in New York and Art Center in Pasadena.
Her photographs appear in the New Yorker, Another Magazine, ANEW, Dazed & Confused and Italian, British and Japanese Vogue among others.
Her paintings and photographs have been exhibited around the world. She published her first book, Gidropark in April 2011.
